{"id":249761,"date":"2026-03-10T07:08:42","date_gmt":"2026-03-10T06:08:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chiaralubich.org\/18-anniversario-della-dipartita-di-chiara-lubich\/"},"modified":"2026-07-25T16:42:04","modified_gmt":"2026-07-25T14:42:04","slug":"18-anniversario-della-dipartita-di-chiara-lubich","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chiaralubich.org\/en\/ultime-notizie\/18-anniversario-della-dipartita-di-chiara-lubich\/","title":{"rendered":"18th Anniversary of the passing of Chiara Lubich"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>14 March 2026 marks the eighteenth anniversary of the passing of Chiara Lubich<\/strong>, founder of the Focolare Movement, who died in 2008.<\/p>\n<p>In the message read during her funeral at the Basilica of Saint Paul Outside the Walls, <strong>Benedict XVI<\/strong> (1) described her as a &#8220;woman of intrepid faith, a gentle messenger of hope and peace.&#8221; In his homily, <strong>Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone<\/strong> (2) highlighted her ability to embody a &#8220;prophecy for a new era&#8221;, uniting diverse cultures and religions under the banner of Gospel love.<\/p>\n<p>The events planned around the world to honour Chiara Lubich aim not so much to be a formal celebration but an occasion to illustrate the witness that she gave.
