During her visit to India, in Mumbai, Chiara continued and deepened the dialogue with Hinduism, which had begun on the occasion of her first stay in 2001. She visited Somaiya College, one of the Hindu university institutions most engaged in interreligious dialogue; Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, a centre established to rediscover the roots of Hindu culture; and she met the Swadhyaya Family, a movement spread throughout India, with over 8 million members.
In Mumbai, at the invitation of Cardinal Dias, and in Delhi and at the invitation of Archbishop Conceçao, she presented the spirituality of unity to priests, religious and lay movements.
