Rome, 1956 In 1956 Chiara went for the first time to the Holy Land to visit a person who was living a difficult moment. But, totally unexpected was her encounter with Jesus, the man-God. Understanding One’s Way

Florence, 17 September 2000 How do we take the right path for our life? An answer of Chiara Lubich. I want to correspond with all my being to God’s love for me. It’s not clear to me yet which way I should follow. How can I grow every day in choosing him in a radical and absolute way? Chiara: She’s asking two questions. First, how can I understand my way? … in nome di Cristo: lasciatevi riconciliare con Dio

Roma, 25 dicembre 1996 Commento alla Parola di vita: ... in nome di Cristo: lasciatevi riconciliare con Dio (2 Cor 5,20). E' l'esortazione di Paolo ai Corinzi che segue il grande annuncio, cuore di tutto il Vangelo: Dio ha riconciliato il mondo a sé per mezzo di Cristo (cf 2 Cor 5,19).Sulla croce, nella morte del suo Figlio, Dio ci ha dato la prova suprema del suo amore. Per mezzo della croce di Cristo, Egli ci ha riconciliati con sé. Questa verità fondamentale della nostra fede ha oggi tutta la sua attualità. E' la rivelazione che tutta l'umanità attende: sì, Dio è vicino con il suo amore a tutti e ama appassionatamente ciascuno. Il nostro mondo ha bisogno di questo annuncio, ma lo possiamo fare se prima lo annunciamo e lo riannunciamo a noi stessi, sì da sentirci circondati da questo amore, anche quando tutto farebbe pensare il contrario. ... in nome di Cristo: lasciatevi riconciliare con Dio. We entreat you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God

Rome, 25 december 1996 Commentary of the Word of Life: We entreat you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God (2 Cor. 5:20). This is Paul’s appeal to the Corinthians following his great proclamation, which is the heart of the whole Gospel: God has reconciled the world to himself through Christ (see 2 Cor. 5:19).On the cross, in the death of his Son, God has given us the greatest proof of his love. Through the cross of Christ, he has reconciled us to himself. This fundamental truth of our faith has much to say to our times. It’s the revelation that all humanity is waiting for. Yes, God is near to everyone with his love and he loves each person passionately. Our world needs to hear this, but we can say it if first we proclaim it, again and again, to ourselves, so that we really do feel enveloped by this love, even when everything could make us think otherwise. We entreat you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.

Sono pochi giorni che l’abbiamo Papa, Giovanni XXIII

20 novembre 1958 Giovanni XXIII è il papa che firmò l’approvazione del Movimento dei Focolari nel 1962. Così Chiara Lubich lo ricorda nelle colonne della rivista “Città Nuova” (...)In Giovanni XXIII è Gesù dal cuore in mano. Gesù che pieno di dolore e di amore dice ai suoi discepoli: "Figliolini miei, amatevi a vicenda". Ma siccome l'amore non è amore se non è forte, si presenta in Lui la facilità di scendere al concreto e all'immediato, di incarnare insomma quelle parole: "Coepit facere et docere", di far con amore universale per tutti e particolare per ciascuno, della Chiesa, una famiglia. In Giovanni XXIII si vedono doti così eccelse di umiltà, di semplicità da far star male parecchia gente che vive nell'inganno del superfluo o della forma, o nel gonfiore di una scienza che poco serve alla vita e molto alla superbia.In Lui Gesù desidera riunire in un solo ovile tutte le pecorelle, anche quelle che randagiano fuori, con quella "diplomazia", dicono, ma con quella sapienza, diciamo, che stringe al cuore, ammonisce,
