E' bello ed assai importante il presente Convegno a cui voi, persone di varie convinzioni, partecipate perché interessate allo spirito che ha fatto nascere e muove il Movimento dei Focolari, alle mete, alla sua vita ed alle sue realizzazioni. Voi avete piena cittadinanza nel nostro Movimento, voi siete una parte essenziale di esso. Eppure qualcuno potrebbe chiedersi: un Movimento, come quello dei focolarini, nato da una profondissima convinzione religiosa, dalla scelta di Dio come ideale della loro vita, può forse essere d'interesse per uomini e donne di altre convinzioni? Roma, 25 Novembre 1989 Commento alla Parola di Vita: Non lamentatevi, fratelli, gli uni degli altri (Gc 5,9). Per meglio capire la Parola di vita che ci viene proposta per questo mese occorre tenere presenti le circostanze che l’hanno suggerita. Sono gli inconvenienti che si verificavano nelle comunità cristiane a cui è indirizzata la lettera dell’apostolo Giacomo. Si trattava di scandali, di discriminazioni sociali, di un uso egoistico della ricchezza, di sfruttamento degli operai, di una fede fatta più di parole che di opere ecc. Tutto questo dava origine a risentimenti e malumori degli uni verso gli altri creando uno stato di disagio in tutta la comunità. Non lamentatevi fratelli gli uni degli altri. Già nell’epoca apostolica si poteva notare dunque quello che anche oggi vediamo nelle nostre comunità: le difficoltà più grandi a vivere la nostra fede non sono spesso quelle che ci vengono dall’esterno, cioè dal mondo, bensì quelle che ci provengono dall’interno: da certe situazioni che vi si verificano e da comportamenti dei nostri fratelli, che non sono
