On the occasion of her eightieth birthday, Chiara was awarded the Honorary Citizenship of Rome:
“I have received other honorary citizenships, but this is certainly the one I love the most, because Rome is Rome.
Not only is it rich in history, art, culture, but above all it is like a precious treasure chest that contains the heart of Catholicism.
‘Rome is unity’, as Pope Paul VI said. Rome is called to contribute to achieving universal brotherhood in the world.”
