Chiara Lubich describes to a group of bishops the experience of the Focolare Movement concerning Mary. She explains how Mary made herself known in important moments of life, in such a strong and new way that the Movement as a whole took its name from her: “Work of Mary.”

Your Eminences and Your Excellencies,

The fundamental point of our spirituality that I have been invited to present this year – is one of the points of our spirituality, but it is much more than a point – this is Mary.
I will, however, not set out to speak of Mary as perhaps one should when speaking of the world’s most exalted being, since only the Church itself is capable of doing such a vast and demanding task throughout the centuries.
