In January, in many parts of the world, Christians celebrate their common faith together with special prayers and meetings. The theme chosen for the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity is taken from the Book of Revelations. Siamo nel Paese forse più ricco del mondo.A sinistra della nostra macchina ecco una serie di vetrine che si fanno notare. Al di là del vetro nevica graziosamente: illusione ottica. Poi bambini e bambine su slitte trainate da renne e animaletti Waltdisneyani. E ancora slitte e Babbo Natale e cerbiatti, porcellini, lepri, rane burattine e nani rossi. Tutto si muove con garbo. Ah! Ecco gli angioletti... Macché! Sono fatine, inventate di recente, quali addobbi al paesaggio bianco.Un bambino con i genitori si leva sulle punte dei piedini e osserva ammaliato.Ma nel mio cuore l'incredulità e poi quasi la ribellione: questo mondo ricco s'è accalappiato Natale e tutto il suo contorno, e ha sloggiato Gesù! Bahnhofstrasse and parallel streets. A never-ending row of shops, a sophisticated but exorbitant richness.We are in what is perhaps the richest country of the world.To the left of our car a row of shop windows catches our attention. Through the window it is snowing gently: an optical illusion. Boys and girls on sledges pulled by reindeer and Disney animals. Still more sledges and Father Christmas and little deer, piglets, hares, frogs, puppets and red dwarfs. Everything is moving gracefully. Oh! There are the angels… But no!
