To anyone who has, more will be given …

Commentary of the Word of Life: To anyone who has, more will be given and he will grow rich; from anyone who has not, even what he has will be taken away (Mt 13,12) Jesus says these words in answer to his disciples who asked him why he speaks in parables. He explains that not everyone is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but only people who are open, only those who accept his words and live them.In fact, some of those who hear him choose to close their eyes and ears so that “they look but do not see and hear but do not listen or understand” (Mt. 13:13). These are people who see and hear Jesus, but because they assume that they already know all the truth, they do not believe his words or the actions that confirm them. The Word, a presence of Christ

From Chiara’s Diary on March 7, 1967 I experience that it’s true that the Word of God is a presence of Christ and coincides with the Word Himself.And so I think that this kind of communion with Jesus, in His Word, is something I can have at any moment; at any moment I can be nourished by Him and make Him grow in me as in a continuous communion. I certainly do not see the Gospel as a book of consolation that we turn to in times of suffering, when we are seeking an answer. It is the handbook containing the laws of life, applicable to every circumstance. These laws are not meant merely to be read, but to be “eaten” by the soul, thereby making us like Christ in every moment!I experience this in such a vital way that the different aspects of life (the joys, the sorrows, whether ordinary or exceptional) lose their significance and come to nothing. La Parola, presenza di Cristo

Dal diario di Chiara Lubich del 7 marzo 1967 Ho sperimentato che è vero che la Parola di Dio è una presenza di Cristo e coincide col Verbo stesso.Allora ho pensato che questa comunione con Gesù nella sua Parola la posso fare ogni attimo ed ogni attimo posso nutrirmi di lui e farlo crescere in me come una comunione continua. Ho visto il Vangelo non certo come un libro di consolazione ove ci si rifugia nei momenti dolorosi per averne una risposta ma come il codice che contiene le leggi della vita, di ogni momento della vita ; leggi che non vanno solo lette ed osservate, ma “mangiate” coll’anima e ti fanno Cristo in ogni istante! E ho sperimentato la cosa in modo così vitale da farmi cadere nel minimo e nel nulla tutti gli aspetti che ogni attimo della vita comporta (dolorosi, gioiosi, comuni, straordinari) e da rendermeli l’uno al confronto dell’altro indifferenti, per vedere importante solo il Cristo che con la sua Parola li riempie e li vive. Innamorati di Dio

Dal diario di Chiara Lubich del 15 novembre 1968 Da quando si è approfondita la conoscenza del Cuore di Gesù che, vivo, batte in Cielo per noi, con la grazia di Dio si fanno nuove esperienze spirituali. Alla visita, in chiesa, ad esempio, davanti a Lui, quando gli si dice: ti amo, la parola contiene veramente la realtà; non solo la realtà della volontà, ma quella dell’affetto, quell’affetto infocato che è umano ed è divino. Grazie a Dio, in verità, questo si può provare. Che il Cuore di Gesù, fornace ardente di carità, mantenga il nostro cuore al calore del suo ed esso sia lo scrigno che contiene questo unico prezioso nettare: l’amore. Sì, l’amore, quello di chi è da Dio innamorato di Dio. Proprio così. Allora la vita qui in terra è piena, non manca più nulla. «Cuore per cuore». Così, sinché la fiamma è accesa. In Love with God

From Chiara’s Diary on 11/15/1968 Since getting to know in depth the Heart of Jesus which lives and beats in Heaven for us, one has – through God’s grace – new spiritual experiences.When making a visit to church for example, when you are before Him and you say, ‘I love you,’ the words truly contain the reality, not only the reality of the will, but of the affection, that burning affection which is human and divine. Thanks to God, this really can be experienced.May the Heart of Jesus, the burning furnace of charity, maintain our heart at the same degree of warmth as his heart, and may our heart be the treasure chest which contains this unique precious nectar: love.
