This is the amazing new thing that Jesus proclaimed and gave to humanity: to be children of God, becoming God’s children through grace.But how, and who is given this grace? Essere uno col fratello

Trento, 1950 Chiara è invitata a dare conto di ciò che, sotto la sua spinta, aveva messo a rumore – con qualche sospetto, dubbio e accusa – il pacifico capoluogo trentino e già si estendeva alla penisola. Libertà, uguaglianza… che fine ha fatto la fraternità ?

Londra (palazzo del parlamento britannico), 22 giugno 2004 Fra i valori propugnati dalla Rivoluzione Francese e da allora obiettivo privilegiato della politica moderna e contemporanea, quelli di libertà e uguaglianza hanno percorso attraverso i tempi un cammino lento ma deciso verso una realizzazione sempre più piena e stabile. Il principio della fraternità sembra invece soccombere sotto le minacce incalzanti del terrorismo, frutto spesso dello squilibrio economico e sociale fra i popoli. Chiara Lubich rilancia nel suo discorso al Parlamento britannico la fraternità universale come paradigma globale di sviluppo politico, così come emerge dall’esperienza del Movimento politico per l’Unità, espressione politica del Movimento dei Focolari.
